Mission Statement

The Army Medical Department (AMEDD) DoD/VA Program Office serves as Army Medicine’s principal coordination element with the Department of Defense and Veterans Health Administration (VHA) on veterans related policy and resource sharing. In concert with a cadre of AMEDD subject matter experts and healthcare professions, we perform detailed analysis of DoD and VHA policy and sharing initiatives in support of Army equities. We create capacity by facilitation of Regional Medical Command and facility level resource sharing. We enhance diplomacy by managing strategic communications on Army-VA related topics with diverse, high level stakeholders to include DoD; the Office of Management and Budget; the Government Accountability Office, and Congress.

The purpose of this website is to provide information on policies and legislation related to the DoD/VA Healthcare Resource Sharing Program, as well as US Army Medical Command (USAMEDCOM) policies that govern the implementation of the program.
